What a cookie is here

A cookie is a short text file that a site stores in your browser so it can recognise the same browser later. Alongside cookies we use local storage, which works the same way but holds slightly more and is never sent back to a server automatically. On phukethirecar.com the most important use of local storage is a copy of your last car search, so that opening a second page does not run the same query again.

Strictly necessary

These cannot be switched off, because the site stops working without them. They include a session identifier, a security token that protects forms from being submitted by a third party, your language choice, and the cached search results described above. They carry no advertising value and expire quickly, in most cases within hours and at the latest when your browser session ends.

Performance and analytics

These count visits and tell us which Phuket pages are read and which are skipped. They record a page path and an approximate location rather than anything that identifies you by name. They run only if you accept them, they last no more than two years, and refusing them changes nothing about what you can do here.

Partner cookies at the booking step

When you open a car and continue to book, the rental technology partner sets its own cookies so that your booking is attributed correctly and so that returning to a half finished reservation works. How long each kind lasts

Turning them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies for a single site. In Chrome and Edge it is under Privacy and security, in Safari under Privacy, and in Firefox under Cookies and Site Data. Clearing site data for phukethirecar.com also removes the cached search, which simply means the next search runs fresh.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the search form and the booking handover. Blocking analytics has no visible effect at all.
