Give a hotel name and a time, and the car meets you there instead of meeting it at the airport.
Most visitors picture a rental car waiting in an airport car park, but on Phuket the more common shape is the opposite: the car finds you. Almost every beach district on the island carries its own live stock, so a supplier can bring a car to a hotel lobby, a villa gate or a condo entrance instead of asking you to travel to collect one.
Name where you're staying
The booking form asks for the property name rather than a street address, because that is what a driver actually searches for on the island. A gate code or a phone number is worth adding too, since a number of villa addresses are genuinely hard to find on a map.
Set a time, not just a date
Landing late, checking in early or wanting the car only for the middle of a longer stay all work the same way here: the driver turns up when you say, not on a fixed daily schedule.
Meet at reception or the gate
The driver brings the car to the entrance of the hotel, villa or condo rather than to a car park a taxi ride away. No terminal, no shuttle, no queue at a desk.
Walk the car together
Photograph the four corners, the roof and the fuel gauge with the driver still standing there, then sign. The same ten minutes that would happen in a car park happens on your own doorstep instead.
Hand it back the same way
Collection at the end of the hire runs in reverse: the driver comes back to the property at the time you agreed, so the last morning of a trip doesn't need a detour to return anything.

The fleet moves through the day as cars go out and come back, so the figures below are bands rather than a running count. Pick the coast you're staying on to see roughly how much stock sits there right now.
Mai Khao, Nai Yang, Nai Thon
Closest to the airport, flat and resort heavy. Mai Khao runs between 170 and 190 cars, Nai Yang around 125, and Nai Thon a little lower, around 145 to 160. Good territory for a first day where you'd rather not drive far.
Bang Tao, Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata, Kata Noi
The main beach strip, and the busiest for delivery. Bang Tao, Kamala, Patong, Karon and Kata all sit between 170 and 190 cars, Surin is a touch lower around 145 to 160, and Kata Noi around 135 to 145. Patong is reached over the hill road from Kathu; the rest string along the coast road.
Rawai, Nai Harn, Chalong, Cape Panwa
Long stay territory around the capes and Big Buddha, each between 170 and 190 cars. It's a natural fit for the delivery model, since guests here often want the car for the middle stretch of a longer trip rather than every single day.
Phuket Town, Rassada Pier
Phuket Town holds between 170 and 190 cars of its own. Rassada Pier, the ferry port for Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Lanta, sits around 125, which is enough to meet an arriving boat with a car rather than a taxi queue.
Airport handover suits a straightforward arrival. These are the situations where bringing the car to you instead makes more sense.
Sixteen districts across Phuket carry their own live listings, from Mai Khao in the north down to Rawai and Cape Panwa in the south, plus Phuket Town and Rassada Pier. The tabs above break them down by coast.
It depends on the supplier. Some build it into the price, others add a small charge, and the individual car listing shows which before you book, so there is nothing to guess.
The property name, plus a gate code or a phone number if the address is hard to pin on a map. Many villa addresses on the island are less reliable than the property name itself.
Often, yes, especially if the drop-off point is somewhere with its own stock, such as a hotel in a different beach town or Rassada Pier before a ferry. Confirm it with the supplier when you book.
Many suppliers do run late handovers, particularly for a flight that lands after dark. Give the arrival time in the booking and the driver plans around it rather than around a fixed daily schedule.
